We met at a wedding. :D

He was a groomsman for his cousin, and I was a last-minute fill-in for someone to accompany one of the bridesmaids. Her boyfriend couldn't be her date, so I went with her instead. It was instant-click too. :luv: He had one week left before going back to Scotland that we had together, and left mid-September.

A week later, I booked my flights to Edinburgh for a trip in December (the soonest I would have time to go over). I think we always knew we were meant to be. We were txting, emailing, talking on the phone almost every day from the moment he went home. Thank god for the internet!

Part of me wished we could have lived in Edinburgh (Nicky is from just south of there) as it is just the most interesting city in the world. Whenever we go we try to eat at the Halfway House, up Fleshmarket Close. Quite the interesting little pub!

I would imagine if I lived there I would be in the most amazing shape with all the hills.

Edinburgh is definitely one of the nicest cities. I was pleased with my city selection as I arrived at the train station. :)

We met in Whitby. I was big into photography at the time & was traveling around England photographing whatever I found interesting. I had been to England a few times before & had never explored (d'oh!) outside of London until this time. I still can't believe that. Anyway, I was by Whitby Abbey when I noticed him messing around with this piece of junk he called a camera...I had to say something. It ended up being a old Zenit that his dad let him have! We started talking & that's where it all got started.

Whitby has such a special place in my heart

We met through a band message board and a friend. I talked to his friend Andy on this message board starting in 2001, he came over for a summer in Chicago and we hung out a lot. I started talking to my husband on this message board once Andy went back and I realized British dudes on message boards aren't total creepers. :) Dale came over for the first time in 2005 as a friend, then two more times after as a friend before we realized how well we get along and how strong our feelings were. Engaged in 2006, he moved here in Feb. 2007 and married in March 2007! His parents are here now. They love Chicago and don't totally hate me for stealing their favorite son.

We met online on plentyoffish.com. My friend suggested I sign up as a joke and Tom emailed me the next day. He was stationed 40mins down the road from me, we met up after a month of chatting online and have been together for just over a year now.

We met on a forum for wrestling fans... it was in an off-topic thread that Bill popped up with a post directed at me and with a few responses, it took off from there. We added each other on MSN. We talked on there and on the phone for two years before I flew to Boston to meet him in person. :)
