How to obtain Tax Transcript for 2007???

Hello everyone! Pls. Pls. help us my fiance just filed his personal ITR online and he mailed his business ITR a week ago and he just called the IRS to request the tax transcript for 2007 and only a voice recorded answered him. How to get the transcript as soon as possible??? What is the correct number? How long til u can get the transcript? Pls. help us....our interview is so soon. We badly needed your advice or help. Mail: Complete IRS Form 4506-T, Request for Transcript of Tax Return.

It does take a while before you can get access to transcripts for a tax return you just filed. Why does he need a transcript...he obviously has copies of his tax return right?

Actually right now these dont work. You call this and you dont get the option to request the transcripts. I know. I got my tax transcripts for 05 and 06 back in dec. I called this month to get the 07 and the voice automated system has changed and is geared for tax filing questions now. you can mail them but it will take longer. I am just taking my form that my tax accountant prepared and filed with the IRS.

He will need to use the mail in form, or go with what he has from his tax accountant. Calling the number wont work until after April 15th when all the tax filing is done. The automated option for tax transcripts is not in the system now.

Copy of tax return OR tax transcript.

So just the copy of the Income Tax Return that he filed? I thought of getting the tax transcript so that there's no need for him to get the form 1040, and W2s. -> Photo copy of IRS form 1040, and W2s for past 3 years (Not necessary if you provide the transcripts). I'm so confused now and i'm going crazy huhuhuhuh i dont know what to do.

Hi Chris, Thank you for the reply....so he will just send me the copy of what he filed at the IRS and thats all? As what I've read that if you cant provide the tax transcript you can send the complete copy of the ITR that you filed but with the form 1040, and W2s...I'm so confused now huhuhuuh pls. help me clear this out. Thank you so much.

I wouldn't worry about this years tax return copy because the deadline is April, so what if he didn't file yet. Then all you would have is the W-2. I would send if 05 and 06 tax returns and 07 W2 that would be more than enough for them to see you make money consistently.

You are making the assumption that IRS employees are actually human....

My experiences with their customer service folk have been unquestionably good, though. Get to a human and you might have some luck. I noticed the menus changed also.

they sent mine right out, but sent it to the wrong address which i had asked them to change... i got lucky and somebody hunted me down and gave them to me... amazing I even got them since they couldnt handle a simple address change... I called the 800 number that ends in 1040 and spend awhile just punching on buttons till somebody finally answered..

the automated system has the option again for tax transcripts but it wouldnt let me get 2007.
