Intending Immigrant Visits While Waiting for K1 Visa

Hello All,

I am a USC and my fiance lives in Northern Ireland and is a UK Citizen.

We have been putting off and putting off our K1 Visa papers for well over a year now because of his schedule. He works in television and flies extensively around the world to different locations for approximately 4-6 weeks at a time before having a week off. He generally comes to visit during his time off and is planning to come back in March for the next break (he hasn't been here since December for a 10 day visit).

We WOULD however, like to file for the K1 when he visits next in March. The sticking point is this : come July, he will have an extended hiatus and would like to come stay for an extended period of time (not to exceed 90 days obviously).

In your opinions, should we wait to file the K1 until he is here for the extended visit? If we file in March and he is already in the system when he attempts to enter the country for the extended stay in July, will this throw up several red flags and increase the possibility he'll be turned around at the border? He will carry all the usually items, copy of the K1 packet (if we file in March), bank book from NI, letter from employer and landlord and of course, return ticket and itinerary.

I realize it's really a ####### shoot regarding where and who you get as your reviewing officer, but I'd appreciate any input you may have.

Thank you for your help!

Becky-
