Hi there,

I would appreciate your experiences in answering the following:

I got an "Approval Notice" on the USCIS website for both I485 and I765 in mid Jan 08:

a) for I765, I received the actual card

BUT never the hardcopy of "Approval Notice" in mail

B) for I485, I received the actual card + "welcome to the usa" hardcopy

BUT never the hardcopy of "Approval Notice" in mail.

My question is:

Should I receive a hardcopy of "Approval Notice" of I765 and I485 in the mail?

Do I need these hardcopies when I adjust to 10-year greencard later or for other purposes?

Thanks in advance for your help!

There is no "approval notice" per se that will come in the mail. You will get the Welcome to the United States of America letter and a mailer that holds the green card.

Thanks for the reply. I assume there is also no "approval notice" hard copy for I485 (EAD), the thing that comes in the mail is just the EAD itself. Please correct me if I am wrong.

That's true about the EAD - although to clarify, it is NOT the I 485 - its the I 765 (normally filed concurrently with the I 485).
