Hi Aleta...welcome to VJ :)

Yep, that is the request for further evidence (RFE)

They will send you a letter in the mail stating what evidence they require to complete your case.

Just send them the documents they are requesting.

Shouldn't put your case behind too much.

Best of luck to you!!!!

Hopefully, you have a copy of your petition. Have a look over it and see if there was a document that may have been unsigned, or perhaps you did not include your fiance's ( translated ) BC, divorce decree or some evidence of having met in person that could be crucial to proving your case...? That way, you can be ready when you get the hard copy RFE notice. Just a suggestion.

When you return everything back , write on the left bottom corner of the envelope in bold red

' RFE ' . Best wishes to you!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I'm a July filer and I received an RFE on November 28th although I didn't get it in the mail until December 20.

Check your documents in case you find something you can be researching in the meantime. Our RFE was based on them needing more evidence of a relationship. We sent everything that they requested but then sent copies of his passport and printed out the itineraries from his trips. Then we also got an RFE for our divorce decrees. They were not "signed by a legal authority". I was able to send our RFE back in a few days and they stated that they received our evidence on December 28th and we're still waiting.

Good Luck and best wishes. Let me know if there is anything else you need to know. Just know that I am here for support if you need it.

Yes - once you get the letter it will explain what evidence you need to send - *hopefully* once they receive it things will move a bit quicker although this isn't always the case :(

Yes, every case is different and don't let mine discourage you. There are cases that are approved within a couple of days after the USCIS receives the evidence. I hope that is the case for you. Good luck.
