Hi, I'm just curious if there is a big difference when it comes to adjusting on various visas including the K1.

My interpretation is that there is little difference except that with a k1 you may have the chance to adjust without an interview as you were already questioned at the embassy.

But it terms of EAD and AP is there any difference?

No difference for EAD and AP but if adjusting from other visa types might also need to include the I-130.

I 130 & I129F (K3) and AOS info in timeline

Hi, I'm just curious if there is a big difference when it comes to adjusting on various visas including the K1.

What other visas are you asking about, as there are some visas from which adjusting status may not be an option....I'm thinking here the J-1 w/ a 2 yr home stay rule, for example

My interpretation is that there is little difference except that with a k1 you may have the chance to adjust without an interview as you were already questioned at the embassy.

The reason a K1 visa holder, would not have an interview upon AOS is that the petitioner's local office is backed up, so their case is transfered to California....nothing whatsoever to do w/ the previous interview at the embassy/consulate.

But it terms of EAD and AP is there any difference?

The EAD/AP usually are approved w/in 90 days of filing....regardless of what visa you adjust status on.
