The only date that matters is the "Received date" on your paper NOA1. It's the date just under your Receipt Number. This is the date that USCIS will use to put you in the correct order.

Don't pay attention to the website date. It seems somewhat arbitrary.

I don't know why CSC is so slow. :(

Alcohol. And I'm only mostly kidding. :) Actually I just stay in touch with her as much as possible, and I try to keep busy. Too much time to think means too much time to worry. Another thing that really helps to pass the time that may or may not apply to you is that I'm learning to speak her language.

Best of luck to you!

(By the way, I spent 9 months in Saudi Arabia some years back. Mostly in Riyadh, but also spent time in Jeddah and Damman.)

I found the Saudi people very hospitable and always curious and helpful. The climate didn't agree with me at all. Riyadh was WAY too hot and arrid (the day I got there it was 130F/55C), and Jeddah and Dammam are too humid. Riyadh wasn't a very pretty city, very stark and sprawling, but I absolutely fell in love with Jeddah. The colors and artwork are simply amazing. One of the most memorable times in my life was snorkeling in the Red Sea. The water is so pristine, and the sea life incredible. I'm really glad I had the opportunity.

Definitely try to learn some Arabic. Your fiance will love you for it! The biggest hurdle, I found anyway, is the alphabet. (I can say this both about Arabic and Russian, actually.) Once you've got the alphabet, it's not so bad. I picked up a little Arabic when I was there, and was making pretty good progress, but it's all lost now. I have to say Russian is easier though. :)

LOL... so Mox you are learning Russian... COOL...

i on the other hand (Aussie) where we speak English - am now learning to talk American  <grin> as the way I see it, ONLY Americans use the old measurement system for temps, weight, distance etc... and when you ask many Americans what language they speak ... RARELY do they say English  they say ummmm american... so I am trying really hard to say Y'all y'all and take out, layaway - only teasin'..

have a GREAT day folks... OH ME OH MY only ONE week to go before I see my honey (bittersweet though, cause to go over there for some of this "wait out" time, means leaving my kiddos here with my ex and i will MISS them abysmally)... THAT is the part that I am hating the most over the past year or so - either I have the happiness of being with Steve (but being away from my rugrats) - or I am with them and missing my honey... too many tears and emotional separations for me I am afraid... I CANNOT wait for the next few months to be OVER with so that I can merge all my loved ones together in one place..

We Merckins love teaching Aussies and Brits how to speak real English. :D

I do wish we'd get on board with metric, but it's not gonna happen in my lifetime. It is kinda fun to drive the Canadians crazy about (aboot) it though.
