Hmm... NVC seemed very rude.

I just recieved a letter showing that the NVC has recieved my approved visa, and I called in because on the notice had my fiance's name mispelled entirely. Far beyond any typo I previously had and called the VSC to correct weeks ago. So I called in to try to correct it and the operator seemed very rude and condesending and told me it wasl already sent back on the 18th to Manila. Is this common with the NVC? Now I am extremely worried that my case isn't being treated with any respect or care.

How long is the manila embasy taking most recently to process the visa and schedule an interview?

I have some other questions too. Does my fiance need to have a valid passport before the interview, and also copies of birth certificates for her interview? How many copies? It seems a common trend that we keep having to correct her name, she is getting hastle from the govt there to get her passport because she had to correct an error on her birth certificate. Now it's been resolved, Manila keeps wanting the corrected copies of her birth certificate, so she doesn't seem to be allowed to have one for herself. Can she ignore the request since she is coming here anyway?

Would it be better if she contacted the manila embasy to make any corrections that may need to be made to her package there?

How many ways wrong can you spell Elaine? They seemed to have found about 8 so far.

It is data entry so there can be mistakes. I haven't heard what the lastest timeline in Manila is but you could do a timeline search that will probably give you an idea of what others have been expecting. Claudeth took her original birth certificate, the long form, with her to the interview and the beneficiary will need the passport because the embassy will keep it if all goes well to put the visa in it. Don't forget the CFO certificate either. Good luck

Don't know much about K-1 but I think you'll definitely need a passport and an original birth certificate for the interview.

Manila is notorious for printing out misspelled, and in some cases, wrong names in birth certificates. It's great your fiancee was able to correct it. I have the same problem and won't be able to correct mine as I would need a personal appearance to do it. Unfortunately, I moved out of the country in 1990.

Usually the NVC people are nice to me. Maybe you just got a grumpy one. Maybe your fiancee can have her name corrected at the Manila embassy.
