I was just reading the forums and saw some questions about Taxes impacting the K1 visa process. It made me concerned as I still have not filed my 2006 (yes, 2006) taxes. There are many reasons why I haven't filed, but the taxes are almost complete and hope to have them filed in the next week or so. We have yet to start the K1 process, due to me still being overseas with my honey and my US address is being occupied by tenants. I'm moving back to the US early next month, and then we will start the process.

One more question, does anyone know of any reprocusions of him getting an H-1B visa (work permit) from a company and then we get married eventually? Neither of are excited about the 90 day "must get married" period, especially since we have been living together in Germany for over a year. If the employer does manage to get his H-1B visa approved, I'm assuming when we got married we could just file for Green Card status after 2 years?

Thanks in advance for the info!

You can get married while he is here on H1B and then adjust status right after the marriage. You don't have to wait 2 years.
