I truly doubt my Alla would ever change her fashion sense. She already wears comfortable clothing in public, but definitely never sweats. I think the Americanization will affect her children far more than her. She has always warned me, "Jeffery, I am Russian woman. Yes, I want to be with you in America, but I will always be Russian inside me." This is fine by me!

We had a similar conversation, and my response (over the course of the conversation) was that not only was I fine with it, but that I expected she would remain Russian "inside." It's what makes her uniquely who she is, and I'd hate to think that she would assimilate so much that she'd lose that quality.

And I'm not just saying that just because I know that if we were mugged I'm pretty sure she could frighten said mugger off with a combination evil eye and ranting tirade.
