Hi Diana,

When you ( SO ) went to the interview in Bogota was the DS230 in English or Spanish? The ones I am sending copies of are in English, will this be a problem? I am posting here in case someone else may have the same question.

Thanks

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

Since I had to send everything to the NVC I got together with my husband online (MSN Messenger), he downloaded the form in English, I helped him fill it out, she signed Part I (not Part II) and send me everything through Deprisa, which is Avianca's mailing service. He also sent me his other documents that needed to be submitted with the DS-230.

Didn't you have to submit this to the NVC directly? They wouldn't have completed your case without the DS-230.

Yes but I got an email from the embassy and it stated to bring the copies so since they are in English wanted to make sure they would accept at the embassy. Yes the list from NVC has all required documents. I also emailed them because one of the kids just turned 16 about the Court records and they stated that only 18 year old and up need one.

Just getting everything squared away, husband leaves on 2/9 and need to make sure he has everything so we do not risk a denial. Pretty sure it should be fine.

Here is a copy of an emial from the embassy answer in red

2. The web site has no specific intructions as far as documantation the

children will need at the interview. Will they need photos of us

toghter? Will they need the I-864 to be notarized here in the US before

I send it?

The information of what is needed for the interview was incldued in the

packet that was sent to the kids' address in Colombia. In summary they

will need I30's, DS230's, Affadavidt of Support (1864- original

signature), medical exam report. In additional it is very helpful if

they can present proof of relationship between you, tehir stepmother,

and their bilogical father-this can be in the form of fotos, bank

accounts together, health insurance together etc.

Those people at the embassy are so dumb, the NVC will send out their packets to the embassy with all the stuff you already sent them, this includes the DS-230s. But I did have copies of everything I had sent the USCIS and the NVC just in case, never needed them.

Don't forget about their Bastismal Certificates and I'm not sure if children will need migratory movement certificates from the DAS. I'm thinking no since they're minors but I could be wrong. It's best if you ask this question in the Colombian thread since there are a lot of members who have brought their fiancée's children to their States.

We had the mom do a letter here in the US at the Embassy for the kids tobe able to leave however it has to be like authorized in Bogota for them to be able to leave. Let me shoot over to the colombian thread and pose the question.

thanks again
