what happens after you receive the visa...i know, obviously, my husband's gonna come over to the US...but what do we do after that.....i'm guessing we don't have to worry about anymore paper work for another 2 years after he gets here....but i just want to be sure that he'll be able to find a job and everything...

sorry if this question was addressed a million times before... :blush:

You're correct. All you need to watch out for is to make sure he gets his Social Security #, even if you checked the box on the DS-230. Some people never get it and have to go to the SSA office to find out what is going on. Besides that, you're free of fees and paperwork until you remove conditions two years later.

11/16/07 - Received green card and Welcome to America letter in the mail

Removing Conditions

07/06/09 - I-751 sent to CSC

08/14/09 - Biometrics

09/27/09 - Approved

10/01/09 - Received 10 year green card

U.S. Citizenship

03/30/11 - N-400 sent via Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation

05/12/11 - Biometrics

07/20/11 - Interview - passed

07/20/11 - Oath ceremony - same day as interview

How long have you been married?

My husband and I have been married for over 2 years when I got my visa which means I won't have to do anything before 10 years (whent eh Green card expires).

N-400 process started 09/2017

December 31st was our first anniversary....so, we've only been married for a year and some...
