Hey guys, I have been reading alot of material and just have a few ?s I am not sure about. Is it ok for Ashley to eat the morning of the medical exam? Also, I have heard that the DS-156 and DS-157 forms have been updated to a newer version but Ashley received the older ones from the USEM. Does anyone know about this and does it matter? Thanks and we look forward to your responses, Joe

Its better for her to eat proper meal before her medical exam sso that she will nto starve while waiting for her turn at the medical centre. You can download the newer version at the UScis site.

As for me, Im so hungry after goin up and down in SLEC. she has to eat a lot.

they will only get blood for (HIV test) and urine for preg test.

Thanks so much. I know here in US you have to fast before some exams etc. so I just wanted to make sure. Also, why do we have to fill out different forms than the ones the embassy sent in packet 4. Sometimes this process is so complex and it needs to be more reasonable. My friend told me they had new DS forms but they sent the older ones. If anyone can shed some more light on the subject I would greatly appreciate it. Joe

Blood exam done at SLEC is not for a "Fasting blood exam", so no need to fast. You can even bring food inside if you don't want to go out to eat. The blood test are for Syphilis, HIV, etc... (no blood chemistry/lipid profile exams) and urine test for drug test and pregnancy test. Good Luck!

When I got my packet they sent me the older version of DS forms so I called the consulate regarding about it but they said that its Ok to use the older version that they have sent. But I chose to download the new version because its easier to fill-up and quicker too!
