Hello there,

Hubby and I got married 7 months ago I just got my green card recently. We would like to take a trip to Australia for our honeymoon. I know he doesn't need a visa but I'm from Mauritius (a country that requires a visa to enter Australia) and I would like to know if I still need a visa if I have a green card or am I considered to be a resident of USA therefore don't need to go through the formalities/visa processing that I usually do if I apply for my country? Thank you!

Yes you will need a visa, only a few countries treat US Green-card holders like US Citizens and do not require visa to visit. Australia is not one of them.

Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean recognize the green-card.
