When I first got there and was sat waiting I felt really sick, I was so nervous. When my number was called and I went to the first window my nerves just went. The American guy who did the interview questions made me feel completely at ease. I was at my worst waiting in the courier queue, I was bursting to tell people but couldn't just yet.

Once I got out of the Embassy I was shaking like a leaf and crying (good job it was raining at the time ) while I phoned Randy.

My visa and MBE arrived this morning, its so nice to be able to hold the physical proof of my approval .

Oh I can imagine - I was crying and shaking wehn I got my NOA2 so god only know what I will be like when I get approved!!!

I got all the originals back - birth certificate, divorce certificate plus the police-subject access certificate

You wont be declined.

I was so scared too, I have been having treatment for breast cancer since March, had my medical halfway through the treatment and only finished all the treatment on Christmas eve. I was so worried that I may be seen as a potential burden on the state and for that I would be denied. It was hardly mentioned apart from being told to "keep an eye on it". I think it would take something pretty major for a denial to be given.

OMG, I am still having a very hard time getting this to sink in. I mean,,my god, the worst part is done. Maggie is really going to be here with me. I know that there is going to be a LOT more to do, appointments to go to, and forms to fill out, but is it worth it? OMG damn right it is.

Good luck to all that has to go through this. It's well worth it if you really really believe your meant to be together.

I have only just seen this thread but I really wanted to thank you for the detailed report on the interview. I am trying to relax about it but have been worrying about minute detail and the possibility of denial. Your write-up has made me feel much more relaxed and positive. So thank you.

For those that think they have problems I just want to reassure. When I went for my medical I was half way through my treatment for cancer, I was was asked to submit the operation results, grades etc, when I got them. My surgeon faxed these through, however I still had to go through 4 weeks of radiotherapy which finished on 24th December. The radiotherapy was not included on the medical report but I was still approved. The only comment I got was to "keep an eye on it".

I was convinced that my visa would be denied because of my medical history and the fact my treatment wasnt finished, I have me last appointment next week, hopefully to sign me off.

I know its different for people like KJC but I just want to say that it wont be a problem, just follow their Recommendations.

Incidentally I ticked that I had depression when I had marital problems, I saw a cpn and was on anti-depressants for a while, this was overlooked and ignored, seems like if there was a reason for the depression then thats ok
