can anyone name all of the different types of north on a map?

it's a drawing showing the difference in angle between magnetic and grid north usually found in the bottom center of military maps. it's used to convert magnetic north to grid north readings and vice versa.

I guess I better not go hiking with just a map and a compass if hubby does not come along. After reading what is a declination diagram I still don't know what good that is to me. :lol:

as long as you are not calling for fire and you can terrain associate, you'll do fine. :thumbs:
