Hello Everyone who have gone through AOS...

I was the petitioned fiancee'. We just got married 2 weeks ago and are now getting ready for filing AOS. I am not sure if there's already a topic which discussed this, if so I cannot find one in my searches. I am wondering what Family Name the petitioned fiancees' have used in your filing for AOS, EAD and Advance Parole. It's kinda confusing.

I already have SSN even before I came to US under K-1 visa due to previous non-immigrant work authorization. Almost 2 weeks after wedding, we went to SSA for info change on my SSA records (name change) and to get an updated SS card. However, I was informed that I cannot change my SSA records with my name change application within 30 days of my I-94 expiration (which is just less than 2 weeks from now). The DMV does not also grant me extension in my Driver's License as they are basing on the INS/USCIS document which should indicate until what date I am staying in the US legally.

Anyway, my question is - is it okay that I already use my Married Name in AOS, EAD, Advance Parole applications which we intend to file in one package? (I intend to use my husband's last name the earliest possible).

I appreciate your feedbacks....

Thanks,

Azbound

Yes, you should use your new married name on your AOS/EAD/AP application forms.

You will be attaching a copy of your marriage certificate to show why your name changed.

Good luck for a speedy approval.
