New reports say that one of the victims was taunting the tiger. The person apparently jumped a fence and was dangling his leg over the tiger's enclosure.

I'm sorry, but if you taunt a tiger, you probably deserve to die. Seriously, there is no cure for stupidity.

If you taunt a tiger you DESERVE to be removed from the gene pool by that tiger.

The kid was 17, it was an idiotic thing to do, and he lost his life, he paid the price for his stupidity, and for that matter so did his family. However, deserving? I don't think so. Plenty of teenagers make idiotic decisions and they don't lose their life, are you saying they should because the gene pool is better off without idiotic teenagers? Possibly you don't mean this as it sounds, but that's how it sounds.

As for the tiger dying too, the police officers were faced with saving the other two men, who may, or may not have had something to do with the taunting, or killing the tiger, I think they made the right choice.

Actually I think if you are stupid enough to dangle your leg over a tiger cage then, regardless of age, you shouldn't complain when you get eaten. Not that you could complain as you'd be dead, but you get what I mean. Deserving? Actually, I'm going to stick with that and say yes. Does this make me a bad person for thinking this? Nope, but perhaps I just can't see the fun to be gotten from taunting a hungry carnivore that you should KNOW would rip you to shreds given half the chance.

He was 17 and that IS a shame, he made a mistake and he paid for it. Maybe the best we can hope for is that others learn from HIS mistake.

As to the shooting of the tiger, having read the latest updates I agree that shooting it was probably the best option at that time, however, I return to my earlier point in that had the zoo had adequate training it wouldn't have even gotten to that point. They would have been able to tranquilise it before it had even finished mauling the first person.

I believe playing with my cat and dogs with little toys making them attack, is cute as do many. This is taunting also. So I guess its okay to torment your little pets? This kid didnt deserve to die, #######?

Their was a lady in Cali. that died jogging on a trail, A mountain lion killed her because the lion was triggered by her movements. I guess she deserved to die also because she was jogging. Running screamin little kids, people walking by the tigers enclosure, may have been enough to trigger it. The Irony about the lady jogging is, the cubs of the lion got more donations than the ladies family.
