I was wondering if any of you have a hard time calling to the Philippines during the holidays? This year as well as last year I have had a very hard time calling during Christmas through New Years. I'm lucky if I get a call through to her. I'm guessing it the amount of calling that happens around the holidays. Is this all of Philippines or just her provider (Smart)? Any of you have problems like this? Sucks when the one you love is so far away during the holidays and you can't even call :(

With over a million Filipinos living and/or working overseas, a large number who can't make a holiday visit will be calling their families. Just keep trying.

I had no problems, my wife is in San Fabian, Pangasinan. We use Aspen communications. The phone quality is good, only have had problems during typhoons or power outages. They have low rates, and time is unlimited. We talk for hours every day. Check them out. aspen communication.com. It beats spending several hundred per month to talk to loved ones....john&jean

Yeah, that has happened to us too. Also, the text messages seems to have been delayed during those times. We found that its easier for her to call here to the US than me dialing to the philippines, except when using the Globe1 card. That always takes for ever to connect but is a good card when it does.
