I also had my seminar in Cebu even before my interview and the visa is not a requirement. The passport, yes. Also, bring a valid ID, other than the passport, some pictures of you and your fiance and your NSO Birth Certificate.

Merry Christmas :)

DeeZee yes you need to bring your passport and documents like your BC and your fiance, pictures, or just bring all the documents left from you in USEM...I suggest you better get your seminar at St. Mary in front USC boys high in General Maxilom and much better if you go there with your visa because if not you need to return there for the stamp..Johna and I went there 7:30 and we are done before 3pm.. Musta na ang visa??

I don't know how long it will take for the review but they've already done that before. I have a feeling its with a different consul now so another review. Just hope it won't take another few weeks. I can't wait to leave for the US already. Yeah, I've made a million calls to USEM and I'm spending a lot for this process..argh. Anyway, Happy new year Jessel!

I also had my seminar in Cebu even before my interview and the visa is not a requirement. The passport, yes. Also, bring a valid ID, other than the passport, some pictures of you and your fiance and your NSO Birth Certificate.

Are you sure that my fiancee will need her passport in order to complete the CFO Guidance and counseling seminar? Joy's embassy appointment is Feb. 7, and medical is Jan. 30. She is planning on doing the medical early, Jan 8 and 9, then going to CFO for the guidance and counseling seminar on Jan. 10. My understanding is that, since she won't have her passport, they give her a "guidance and counseling certificate." Then, when she gets the visa, she will go back to CFO for the stamp, and they will stick the guidance and counseling sticker in the passport. Am I incorrect?

Because of our age gap, and the fact that I have been divorced a few times, I am concerned that the CFO may give Joy a hard time during her "guidance and counseling" seminar, and may want her to provide "additional documents." If this happens, I would rather know about it early on, and not at the last minute when we are ready to catch a flight. Thus, I am hoping that Joy can get her G&C certificate on Jan. 10, but if they want more info, we can provide the extra documentation after she has the visa, and hopefully prevent any CFO-caused delay in departing the Philippines. What do you folks think?

Happy new year too Irene! Thank you for the concern, I do hope it will come early January coz I'm planning to leave for the US by then. In the meantime, I will enjoy my time here with my family! :)

Marc, I learned that you don't need the passport for the seminar, it's just one of the two valid IDs that you need to present to them. In my case, I'll be bringing my SSS and driver's license IDs since i don't have my passport yet. I hope Joy won't have a hard time during her seminar and you're probably right better to have it early! Happy new year!
