Vaccinations in the UK

I've just been speaking to my local doctors with regards the Vaccinations needed prior to the Change of Circumstance once you are in the USA.

My local doctors will not give me a MMR or a TB jab.

They said they can test me for TB but that's it and they will only give MMR to children and teenagers going to college.

I can get a Diphtheria jab at my local doctors but that's it.

They offered to give me some phone numbers of private clinics that could do it.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm wishing I had the jabs at my medical with "Knightsbridge Doctors" two weeks ago now. I stupidly thought I could get them on the NHS with my local GP...

Am I right in thinking that I don't actually need to have them to enter the USA and that it WONT cause me problem at the Embassy when I finally get my interview date. ????????????

I'm tempted to get them done in the USA now (if I can) as it looks like I'm going to have to pay for them here anyway..

How many injections is it? 1, 2, 3 ???

Any suggestions?

I got mine all done at my local GP but it partly because they admitted fault at losing my childhood vaccination records. The MMR is a beast, made me feel shocking for days!

You can get them done in the US. You don't need them to enter US but you do need them for AOS as you are aware.

Someone is telling you bad info here !!

Make an appointment with the nurse at your local GP's to get them, this is what I did and it cost me a total of £15 for the injections. Explain to the nurse that you are planning to move to the USA and that these injections are needed.

I had two injections in total.

If you do get them in the US, you may be spending $50-150 per shot, depending on the vaccine and clinic.

I am booked in to see my local travel clinic tomorrow to go over any jabs I might need and potentially have them if they can't provide me with records I can't see that there would be a problem although I can understand that you might have to pay - just not as much as going private!

Thanks to everyone for replying.

I will try talking to the nurse at my doctors, I get the feeling I was talking to the receptionist and she didn't appear to have a clue what I was talking about.
