Aloha VJ members,

I would like to send my fiancee to get her police records and medical examination on this coming next month. Now the question is, can she do that without receiving NOA2?

Sept. 4, 2007: Submit I-129F to USCIS

Nov. 2, 2007: Receive NOA1

I don't know that I have an answer to your question, but in the cold snowy weather here, I was missing Hawaii and just had to respond to your "Aloha."

I think that the police certificate is only good for like 60 or 90 days. I wouldn't do it until after the NOA2. As for the medical, I think that's only good for a certain time frame as well. I just don't know the time frames as I'm still waiting for my NOA2 as well.

This afternoon we have a quick heavy rain and due to it we have a 65F but the normal temp. everyday is 78F.. I hope I didn't tease you with that kind of weather LOL. Anyway, I would be staying 2 weeks in Japan in this coming next month of january so that makes us even..

Definitly check on the validity of the 2. In the UK, the police cert is good for a year, but in other countries I know that it is valid for much less time. Also check how long it takes to get the Japanese police cert. We waited until he had the NOA2 to file for the medical and police cert. so that we didnt run into any problems with them expiring.

I would wait until the petition get approved. Claudeth actually got her police clearance in the RP just before she went to the interview to ensure it was as new as possible but I don't know the ropes for Japan.

For Japan, she won't be able to do either until she gets her Package 3. She will need to show those forms in order to get the police certificate and the medical check.
