I'm a brand-new member, forgive any mistakes. :)

Here's my story:

I filed our I129F petition at CSC in mid-May, with a receipt date of 6-1-07. I never got a receipt. On 10-16-07 I got an NOA saying our petition had been approved (yay!), and then on 11-21-07 I got another NOA saying that the Department of State had RETURNED our petition to CSC for further review. That's it, no other explanation. I called that awful 'customer service' number and was told they had no information to give me, that I'd have to wait a minimum of 120 days (which takes us right up to about a week before our wedding day!). I got in touch with my local state rep. His office called, and were told that I'd have to wait anywhere from 8 to 12 MONTHS, and that there was no information to give me!!!! Now I've writted to our state senator, we'll see what that does.

Has anyone else had this problem? What was the reason for the return? How long did it take to resolve? Were you able to get any outside help from anyone, or did you just have to wait it out?

I'm going nuts, our wedding was meant to be in April and now we've had to put everything on hold.

Thanks.

I haven't heard of this before. Perhaps others have. It sounds like something came up in a name check to cause this. Perhaps the beneficiary has a clue what it might be but it's at least as likely to be a problem with somebody having the same name. Perhaps one of you has a clue what could have come up. It could be either party.

Unfortunately if that's the case, there is absolutely nothing you can do but wait. Perhaps you have the correct government representatives in mind but you don't want State Representatives or State Senators. You want your local Representative to the United States House of Representatives (your congressperson) or one or both of the US Senators from your State. If they make an inquiry and answer "you wait" there is nothing further to do but wait.

Unfortunate again but also true, if the problem is with the foreign fiance(e) the USC petitioner doesn't have a right to know why.

I have never heard of this. Now that my petition is on the way to the DOS NVC, I'm sure curious. I can't imagine what they found deficient or in error that the USCIS did not see. :(
