question regarding old SS #

Hello everyone!

My I-130 just finally got approved after 22 months (YAY) and now i am filling out the rest of the paper work, the I-485, and so on. My question is in 99 and 00 i entered the country on J-1 status and recieced a SS # to with with INS authorization only, do i use this SS # on all forms or none at all and could this help speed up the process at all if i do use it?

Yes, if you have SSN you can indicate it on the forms.

SSN is issued to a person for life, so that is one less thing for you to apply for.

Later when you do get green-card you can visit SSA and get the disclaimer removed form the card.

Keep the old SSN. You can get that restriction removed once you can show status via USCIS

Another question redarding my I-765:

like i said i have a SS # for work only with INS approval, and while filling out my I-765 i see the question #11 and i have applied before for work authorization, but it was in 1999 and 2000 and the documentation had been destroyed in a previous house fire...how do i account for this missing information?

that was 7 and 8 years ago, i can't even remember what i did last month....is there anyway to get that information from USCIS?
