Garlic is also nice when chopped and put into mashed potato... Mmmmmmm :D

i don't chop them. I heat water, throw the potatoes in cubes and the whole garlic clove (like 10 of them :P ) and once the potato is cooked, I get rid of the water and mash the potatoes with the garlic (that has softened). Then add lots of pepper, some butter, milk. Oh, I also cook with chicken bouillon instead of salt :D

I never tried mashed sweet potato... Have you ever tried them roasted?!?! They are soooo good :D

Have you guys ever tried mashed cauliflower?

Now before you make faces.... I hate cauliflower normally. However, I LOVE potatoes..of course! :lol:

What I do is oversteam my cauliflower in my pampered chef steamer and then mash it well with my hand mixer, add light or spray butter (sometimes) sometimes we even put in lowfat shredded cheese. Even my kids love it. Weird, I know, but worth a shot if you're a carb queen like me! ;)

I was on allrecipes.com the other day and this came up on my search as well as mashed turnips. Since I didn't have cauliflower on hand I tried the turnips and well it was super gross. I will have to give the cauliflower a try...and adding cheese sounds like a yummy touch...

What makes you think that cauliflower is better for you? They're completely different in nutrition. I eat potato instead of pasta, better carbs. But potato and cauliflower can't be compared. They both have their nutritional value, potato has more carbs, that's all. They're both good for you.

Yeah I guess - I think I am more inclined to think potatoes are not so good for you because I eat them roasted and tend to add butter and things to mash :whistle:
