Thank god this part is over, and Gamal is approved. His appointment was at 7:30 and he got there at 7. They called him up 3 times to the CO window before the actual interview. First was for his birth certificate and military records, second was to pay for DHL, and the third to take his fingerprints. At this point he is getting incredibly nervous, poor guy. He was finally called back for the interview and the man asked him if everything in the file was true, and my poor Gamal went cotton mouthed because he had gotten so nervous. The CO told him to be calm, and relax, and he had a translator come in. Then he asked Gamal when we met, when he proposed to me, when I was in Egypt, and Gamal answered them all. The the CO said thank you for your answer, we will call you back in three months. When Gamal told me that I thought I would pee in my chair!!! But it turns out the CO got confused, hadn't been paying attention to the type of case it was and called Gamal back in. He apologized for the co... read complete review

I just finished chatting with H and he said he had to wait for 4 hours to meet with the CO, but that his time with her lasted about 5 minutes. They took all his paperwork when he arrived, made him pay the 55LE for the DHL envelope, did his fingerprints and then he sat for 4 hours waiting.

His CO was a nice young woman.... she asked him if he wanted to do the interview in English or Arabic, and he said Arabic... (he was so nervous)... she then said, "your paperwork says you speak great English, (I had mentioned in our "how we met letter" that we had no communication problems because he was a graduate of Victoria College) so we will do the interview in English". He said "OK" and they did it all in English, which he shocked himself by having NO PROBLEMS with it... Alhamdulillah

She asked how we met, she asked him about the various names I go by (Legal, nickname, and Muslim name)...he explained to her who calls me which... She asked him for my parents names, ... read complete review

I know that there are alot out there like myself who value this section made for those who are awaiting for their interviews. Mine was simply - and strangely - a bliss. I entered the embassy around 7:20 am, and left at 10:45 am. The consuls were very nice to me, the questions were basic - almost upsettingly basic i suppose, especially since i have prepared such a huge file of evidence of my relationship with my husband which they didn't see even when i asked them to! - the only remark i can to say was the unclarity of name calling when the time has come. Other than that, I walked out with my approval with an unbelievable look on my face. With all the comments that i have heard about the u.s embassy in egypt, i was expecting - and waiting - for a disaster that never came! Al hamdulilah!

Akram said the Interview was fast and simple! Only a few questions asked, where when and for how long? He left his passport and was told that he will have passport in 2 weeks. Inshallah~!
