They requested that We get a joint sponser or show thatI the petitioner am making more money now although what I show with my assets should have been enough. They took his passport from him. The American woman interviewing him showed it in her eyes that he was sure to get a visa... but the other Egyptian woman was making problems.

Review Topic: General Review

He arrived at the American Embassy in Cairo at 7:10 am on August 23rd. He said he saw they were already lined up and going inside. There were two guys at a desk and they asked while he was standing in the line if there is anyone else for an immigrant visa interview. He told the guy he is having an interview and then was requested to show his letter. They checked his letter and bag of evidence and wrote a code on top giving him a number and said go directly to the guy at the door. They let him in. He was #15 out of 22 for immigrant visa interviews and he said there were around 170 for non-immigrant visa interviews.

Once inside he waited for an hour and then they called his number and he met with an Egyptian female at the window. She checked his papers and asked for his 2x2 pictures and he explained he already sent the two required by DHL for the K3 packet. She checked and found one already stapled that she had missed. Review Topic: K1 Visa

It was a very fast interview although there were problems with finger printing and then they asked for my original divorce papers from him... which took 3 days to get to them. All in all it was not a bad experience other than the long wait at the embassy. We received the visa not in two weeks to two months but 5 1/2 months.

Review Topic: K3 Visa

He arrived at 7:15 and was finished by 10:15.
He did the usual order of things, called to the first window and an Egyptian woman asked him for his documents, asked if he had traveled outside Egypt (he had) and how long he had been out of the country. She then directed him to DHL.
He paid the DHL fee, waited, had his fingerprints taken by a lebanese woman at another window, then waited some more. After about an hour or hour and a half, he was called to the window for the interview.

He interviewed with a woman named Jenny, he said she was in her mid-20s, light brown hair. She smiled at him, appeared cheerful and he said she was very nice and was laughing a lot during the interview. She asked him if he wanted to do the interview in English or Arabic, he said English.
The questions she asked were:

How did we meet? (We met through a mutual friend, so she then asked how we both knew the friend.)
Was your wife married before?

Review Topic: K3 Visa

In Cairo they apparently tell alot of people "about 2 weeks for AP" But if you speak to Washington they aren't too happy about that!!Interviewed May 07,2009 but still waiting here for K-3 for Spouse...HOWEVER...my husband DID say the Consulate Officer (American Female) was incredibly polite and she made him feel at ease! Proud to be an American with an Egyptian Husband!!!
