I arrived at the embassy at 8 a.m, handed the guy at the gate my interview letter, he signed it and gave it back to me. I entered the embassy and showed an Egyptian lady my interview letter, the folders I had, and my purse. She said: \\\"Wow, that\\\'s too much proof\\\" and asked me to open my purse and she went through its content while another lady scanned me with a body scanner.. She then asked me to switch off my cellphone and give to her along with my USB flash memory, she gave me a card with a number and asked me to enter... I went in where the interview took place.. A guy asked me for my interview letter again, he looked at it fast and gave me two little papers with a number and asked me to have a seat and wait... There were many people waiting and many did not have seats!

I waited till my number was called the first time... I went to a window, there was that Egyptian veiled lady.. She asked me for my original birth certificate and my passport.. I gave her both t... read complete review

First thing to do when approaching the Embassy; is to talk to the man at the door and tell that it is for immigration purpose. There is definitely another line and much shorter.

The procedure I understand was that She went inside on one line to submit the interview papers and passport and photo etc. Here this lady :
took the most recent Police Certificate (even though she said that the existing one from past 4 months is valid until a year);
took the passport photos;
returned to my wife all Tax forms except for the year 2008;
and, took my divorce certified papers (even though I already submitted it in NVC process).

Then she went on another line to get fingerprint done.

Then she went for her interview.
Same questions as we have been hearing from others:

1) How did you meet your husband? Through her Uncle here in USA
2) Did you immediately accept the proposal? He came one time to ... read complete review

Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My husband went to his interview on Nov 9th, 2009 and it went pretty well with the exception of a few things. His case had not arrived there yet on the day of his interview so he had to interview with his copy of all the paperwork. He was only there for about 2 or 3 hours total so that is not too bad. The first thing that happened when he got inside the embassy was that he was given a number and then he paid the DHL fees. After that he sat down for awhile and then he was called again to have his fingerprinting done. When he was done with that he was called to a desk to make copies of his paperwork. This is when he was informed that his original documents still had not arrived from NVC and he was given the option of rescheduling his interview. He decided to go ahead with the interview with the papers he had with him. He said that the interview only last about 20 minutes and that he was asked very general questions. After the interview the officer took his passport and told him that the... read complete review
