I am giving it a 4 because not all the people that are working there know the standard of procedure (SOP). When my wife left the interview 4.5 hours later. She told me that I was allowed to attend with her. We have asked many of the guards and they told us that she was the only one who could go in. I wish I could have gone in because I cooked out in the sun. Now I am sunburned. Also, why it took 4.5 hours for a 5 min interview is beyond me.
To start out with:
The embassy is very confusing when it comes to the entrances to the embassy. There are three entrances. The big one is for the people who work there, the medium size is for the US citizens and the smallest one is for the Colombians and ones who are trying to obtain a visa. They are scattered all around the huge campus with very little signage.
They do have chairs across from the entrance, but you have to pay 1.000 cop to sit on them and also it just seemed like the guys who collect the money on... read complete review

My appointment was at 12:30 and the queue was long and if you are worried about missing your appointment don't worry it seems that they issue the same appointment time to a group of people to process. After entry you will proceed to second floor enter the double doors and proceed to a desk to your right where they will give you the letter of what order they want the application in, attach your photos to the passport, and ensure you are enrolled for return of the passports once you are approved. Immediately after you will queue again in front of three windows where an office worker will review your applications for submission for biometrics and interview. She asked me for the originals of birth certificates, marriage certifica... read complete review

My husband showed up at 6:30am for his 7am interview. They had him organize all of his paperwork and they told him our marriage certificate was not valid because it didn't have a raised seal on it. My husband told them it was the original the notary gave us when we got married but was told that the consulate officer would have to decide if it was sufficient or not. It took a long time for him to get called. The officer was an American guy who barely spoke Spanish. My husband had to keep asking him to repeat himself because he was very hard to understand. He approved our marriage certificate. He asked my husband how we met, how many times did I travel to Colombia in 2021 and 2022, if I speak Spanish and if so, how did I become fluent, did he have pictures showing us together during my trips (he did - I gave him a small photo album of pictures). He looked at the pictures and told him his visa was approved pending the embassy doctor approving his medical (he had an issue with his ... read complete review

My same sex fiance and i came loaded for bear since we have a large age difference and this was my 2nd I129F . Tons of evidence. I prepped him on over 100 K1 interview i found on various sites. He is an actor so learning lines was easy. On the day of our interview appointment at 7:00 we arrived at the embassy at 6:30. We had to wait outside until they called for K1s and others at 7:00 The entry process was impressively organized and smooth. All the embassy employees were professional and supportive. After various checks for the appointment confirmation, security and the completeness of documents, we waited in a covered outdoor area. One note about Bogota: it seem this is one of the few locations where I as the petitioner was able to accompany him through the entire process, including up to the interview window itself.
As we waited we watched the progression of folks thru their interviews. it was generally very easy to see who was approved and who was not just by watchi... read complete review
