The interview went very well and quick. The overall experience took 50 minutes. The interviewer asked my partner’s pronouns which was very respectful and appreciated. The staff were nice, organized and accommodating. The only downfall to the Montreal consulate is that the wait times for an interview are longer than most other consulates and embassies. Be prepared for a longer journey!

Had my interview this morning (December 11th) at 8am. Normally I don’t write reviews but VisaJourney has been a godsend for me and I hope I can pay it forward a small bit.

Arrived at the consulate 20 minutes early. There is a security guard at the door who asks if you are there for immigration or for passports and then asks your interview time. He let me in immediately even though there were people with 7:45 interview times behind me.

Some tips for entry:
- it’s best not to bring a bag. There was one woman who was let in with a tote purse, but another man was turned away because he had a laptop bag. They will send you to the second cup and tell you to ask them to hold your bag for you. This just seems like a hassle that isn’t worth it.
- you have to go through security similar to the airport. It makes everything run faster if you have minimal accessories (multiple coats, belts, winter accessories). Obviously, this isn’t always easy... read complete review

Yesterday was the big day.
I was asked:
What is the name of your petitioner?
Your petitioner's phone number?
Your petitioner's address?
Your address?
Your phone number?
Your nationality?
Have you ever lived anywhere other than Canada?
How and when did you meet?
When did your relationship start?
Have you been to any countries other than the US in the past 5 years?
What was your longest stay in the US?
Have you had any issues with US immigration in the past?
Have you ever been denied entry to the US?
Is this your first marriage?
Is this your petitioner's first marriage?
What does your petitioner do for work?
How much money does he make?
How will you be financially supported when you are in the US?
Documents I was asked for:
Confirmation of payment for interview
My passport + photocopy of bio page
Birth certificate + photocopy<... read complete review

My interview was on Monday November 6, 2023 at 8:15.

The building is non-descript, I assumed there would at least be an American flag but there is nothing to indicate that you are at the consulate unless you are looking into the front doors and you'll see the insignia etched into the glass of the doors on the left. So I'm glad I checked it out the day before, to ensure where I was going the following day. For reference, it is at the corner of Rue. Sainte-Catherine and Stanley St., with a Second Cup coffee shop on the other side of Stanley, and an "Aritzia" clothing store across the street on Sainte-Catherine. The building has glass doors, and when you walk into the front lobby, the consulate doors are immediately to the left.

I arrived about 5 minutes before my scheduled time. I was one of 3 people waiting, and entering was quick and efficient; precisely at 8:15.

I handed my passport to the woman sitting at the desk, She put a sticker on my ... read complete review

I had my visa appointment November 17th @9:15am. It was very easy and everyone there was really nice. It was quite nerve wracking so I’ll give as much information as I can remember for those like me who get super nervous.

Firstly, the location of the embassy is kind of tricky to locate because there are no signs, however, once you locate RBC bank the embassy is the door right next to the bank. It is directly across the street from aritzia/little burgundy.

Once I located it I didn’t have to wait in line at all I was able to walk right in then they opened the door to security and let me right in. I put my phone in the locker and all of my stuff through airport like security. They also gave me two slips in my passport with my number on it. I was able to bring my plastic water bottle in with me. After this I took the elevator up to floor one which exits directly into the room you’ll be waiting in. The room is almost like the same type of room ... read complete review
