Ariived at consulate at 1pm with my son, thy scanned our posseions at security and took my cellphone, which was returned when we left.
Went straight to the window for immigrant visas where they looked through our files and took passports, we were told to take a seat, 15 mins later I was called to another window where fingerprints were taken, told to take a seat again, after 10 mins called again to window, female Consulate Officer asked a couple of questions, did not want to see any documentation or photos, she said everything seemed to be in order and to take a seat to wait the return of my original documents (son was not called or asked any questions. After a few minutes I returned to 1st window where I was given documents, they took my cellphone number and said they would call when visas would be ready to collect, probably the next day. At 10 am the next morning a lady called and said everything was ready just come and collect passports/visas.

I had my appointment at 1pm and arrived 20 minutes early, only to find out that they were closed until 1pm. So no point in coming early.
When you come in you have to go through a security check where they check your bags and take all your electronic devices. The security guy tells you what window you need to go to. A nice lady told me to hand her the documents required, then asked me to sit down. 20 minutes later they took my fingerprints, then asked me to sit down again. After that I had to wait 1 1/2 hours on the consular who wasn't in yet. She was very friendly and the interview didn't take long at all, probably 5-10 minutes. She asked about how we plan to manage our financial situation (we are both students). She didn't ask to see any tax returns, w-2 slips or the like, only a bank statement. She also asked for wedding pictures, and it was definitely a bonus that I had other pictures from the times we spent together as well.
