Instructions for N-400

Hello Guys , 

I will be eligible soon for filing N-400 under 5 years rule. i heard the process takes longer than used to be before from filing to the interview. i want to ask you guys to help me with instruction if i am missing anything. Copy of my green card both side - check $725.00 - N-400 - copy of my marital status - i heard two passport photos are not required. let me know guys if i am missing something. i really appreciate for your answers.

Try filling out the online N-400 application. https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/

 

As you complete the questions on it, you will be asked for additional information depending on your answers to certain questions.  At the end of the application, you will be given an expandable/collapsible list that lets you know what supporting documents you need to attach.  For me that was far better than trying to decipher their instructions.

 

You do not have to submit it until you are ready - however, you do need to keep the application "alive" for 30 days - otherwise you will have to start over.  To do that you just need to sign into the account every so often and review the questions.

N-400 Timeline

02-23-2018: Sent N-400 Application online

02-23-2018: Date on NOA, retrieved from online account

02-23-2018: Date on Biometrics Appointment Letter (Biometrics Appointment at Jacksonville ASC on March 13, 10:00 a.m.)

03-08-2018: Biometrics complete

04-05-2018: Case status updated - Interview Scheduled on May 10, 2018, 10:15 a.m. :D

05-10-2018: Citizenship Interview - Passed English and Civics Tests, Recommended for Approval! :D 

06-19-2018: Received email and text notification: Naturalization Ceremony Scheduled; waited for letter to be uploaded on online account - it has been set on Wednesday, July 25, 3:00 p.m.

07-25-2018: I am now a U.S. Citizen!
