VO asked for my CV

I had interview at US embassy Islamabad during 2nd week of Jan 2017. 

The visa officer asked me some basic questions about my wife that how we met and who attended the marriage. at the end of the interview he said he doesnt mind issuing me a visa but he needs police character certificates from all the countries I have lived in and my CV as he wants to go through my cv and I should put all my publications on it.  

I had alrwady given police character certificates on a window earlier than being called for interview.  I told him he checked and found them in my file he had.  he changed something in the computer and gave a 221 g white. he marked the 1st 2 options on it.  1st one saying visa should not issued to an alien if  (1). . . .  (2). . . . . . (3). . . . .  general statment in INA

2nd option he checked say adminstrative processing. may take several weeks. 

During the interview he asked me to scan my left hand fingers n was checking the computer.  after asking couple of questions he asked to scan my left hand fingers again.  

I studied environmental analytical chemistry.  my master program name was MS environmental toxicology and chemistry but it had two different lines.  I chose environmental chemistry and took little courses from env toxicology and practically with no skills and experience in env toxicology. 

I sent my CV by TCS to the embassy same day.  next day i called embassy and lady on the phone told i dnt need to worry it automatically goes to VISA OFFICER who interviewed me. 

i checked my case status it was on adminstrative processing since my interview just the case status update date was updated that day i call embassy abt receiving my docs. might be the person just added in the system that required docs received. 

 

my questions are:

1. anyone else got tgrough finger scans multiple times.  I am just afraid of mistaken identity.  my name is a common name. 

2. one of my sister in law was also given white 221 g but the 2nd option adminstrative processing wasnt checked on her slip she was just asked some additional docs.  

Am I in huge administrave processing black box?

My wife has went through the finger scanner three times with no issues. Each time was for a different reason (Tourist visa,our visa etc etc)

 

 

Did he say he approved your visa but will put it on hold until certain paperwork? If he did not you are put on on the admin and you are going to have to wait.

he had my police certificates in the file in front of him. a different colleague of him collected from me.  he found them and asked me to send him just my cv by courier. Before enquiring abut police character certificates and cv he said he doesnt mind issuing me visa but he needs police character certificates n my cv.

Well hopefully if he just wants your police certificates again and you do it by mail that's all it will take BUT You are put on Admin so it is a wild guess from here on out what can happen and how long it can take.

 

You should put what embassy you are at as well.
