Applied for IR-1/CR-1

I filled the green card application for my wife from Pakistan in November. I received NOA 1 from USCIS on December 5. i also field k3 spousal visa. Someone on this site said that  K3 are not given out. So, filling for it would have a negative affect on my application? or it would just never get process.

thank you.

it wouldn't have a negative affect. my husband did the same thing for me, after he filed for an I-130 for me and have received a NOA1, he sent out an I-129 for a K-3 for me. They sent back a NOA1 for the I-129 and said that they won't process it, since they have received an I-130 for an IR-1. That happened back in May 2016, and at this moment, I'm waiting for my interview on the 10th January.
