Entering the US without AD husband?

Hi everyone,

My husband is currently stationed in Aviano, Italy and is about to PCS to Alaska. I got my CR-1 visa on June 21 so we're pretty much ready to go. Today he was trying to get our flight schedule for September but he was told that since I am not command sponsored here, they wouldn't be able to book a ticket for me and that the "Rotator" is always fully booked in PCS season so no space A seats will be available.

The only option we have now is to fly separately (sad). I know that the beneficiary can travel to the US without the petitioner if the petitioner is already there. In our case, though, I will fly there first and then my husband will follow in a couple of days. Is there an exemption for military members regarding this rule? Has any of you experienced this before?

Thanks in advance!

Why can't you fly a few days after your husband and save yourselves the worry?

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Is he required to fly on the rotator? When we flew from OCONUS to the US, we had them book us a commercial flight so we could fly together. So he was with me at my point of entry.
