I-134 Section 11

I am the petitioner and am having my dad fill out a I-134 as a co-sponsor. As far as my research can tell with regard to question 11, I will simply not check either box and on the space provided type in "N/A (K1 visa process for permanent residence)".

I am trying to clarify this part for my co-sponsor but I am not sure if it makes sense for him to put this as well. To me, it makes sense to have put that he does intend to make specific contributions to support the beneficiary.

So my question is, on my dad's I-134 (as the co-sponsor) how should he fill out question 11.

Thank you guys for all your help. I have made it this far thanks to research, patience, and this community!

Do you know what they put exactly? Thank you!

Yeah. I have the documents. They wrote the exact thing as is shown on the examples in the VJ guides. The AOS process is different obviously for K1's. The I-134 isn't legally binding like the I-864 that you'll use for AOS so it doesn't really matter and at that point your dad like my soon to be mother-in-law will be as equally responsible for the intending immigrant. The petitioner is always primary sponsor but the co-sponsor is there incase the petitioner can't financially support the immigrant. Just so we don't become a public charge. :)

Question 11 does not apply to K-1 visa cases. It does not matter who fills out the form, whether it's the primary sponsor or a co-sponsor.

Your dad as a co-sponsor will answer question 11 on the I-134 the same way you do...leave it blank and write N/A--K-1 VISA PROCESS

My mom wrote the same as me, which is the same as what's in the VJ guide.

I just explained to her that these same forms are used for visitor visa's as well, and for a visitor visa they want to know if the person intends or doesn't intend. That isn't needed for the K1 visa, there just simply isn't another form to fill out.
