I'm sorry but this is not a quick process, you will have to be patient, the NVC work at their pace not yours!

I filed in July 2014, my case is complete, but I'm like many others still waiting for my interview date

If you reckon on at least a year you will face constant disappointment, I thought 6 months and have been disappointed many times

But always remember you have hope

Ganesh is my strength

It will happen

Roughly how much time does it take for IR1/CR1 visa or K3 visa to get processed?

The timeline from date of applying of petition to the interview approval.

We have been through the same thing as you at the same service centers and around the same dates as you. We have placed calls to tier 2 people and still have gotten the same old "the service center may be backed up " excuse. I feel your frustration! we have our I130 at Nebraska and asked if it would be meeting up. Still we have gotten just a maybe. No real answers. Where is your I130 at? if it is at one of those centers you may be in luck to have it processed sooner from the research I have done online. If you contact a state representative that may help also. However, we have done that and still are counting days.

The thing is, you guys are still in the regular processing times. It will take AT LEAST 5 months for your I-130s to get adjudicated. So calling right now might not help in my opinion. Just wait till your 5 months are over and then start calling. Right now you're just wasting your time and energy by calling and worrying. It will come in its own time.

Also, while you are waiting, you can start preparing and collecting the documents that will be needed at the NVC stage.

Note: For Indian nationals, it is advisable you get your spouse's name added in your passport, because without it, the Passport office will NOT issue you a PCC. So that is something you can get done now. And in a month, you may go and get your PCC issued so you have it ready when you need to send it.

I am sorry but I don't have an idea about the K3 visa. My husband and I are doing the I-130 only so I have not researched anything.

Let me know if you have any questions about the I-130 though. :)

Oh atleast you guys are together. Me and my husband are separated by 7500 miles! :(

Anyways, what I did was this.

While I was awaiting approval from the TSC, I got my passport changed in order to get my husband's name added in there. I did this in April.

Next, in June I got my PCC issued.

Now, as soon as i got the approval in July, I collected all my documents and shipped them to my husband, also we pre filled out the DS-260 to be ready. We also filled out the I-864 and were ready to print it out and sign it.

The documents we sent are as follows:

>> AOS package:

I-864EZ original signed and dated

Original tax transcripts for years 2014,2013,2012

Copies of W-2's for years 2014,2013,2012

Copy of my husband's(the petitioner) employment letter indicating his current income

Copies of pay stubs for the last 7 months(Jan to July)

Copy of my husband's naturalization certificate(You do not need this if you are filling out the I-864EZ form, but we still sent it to be on the safer side)

>>IV package:

Photocopy of my Birth Certificate

Photocopy of our Marriage Certificate

2 passport size pictures of me

Photocopy of first 2 and the biographic data page of my passport

Photocopy of my PCC

That's it. You should be prepared with all these documents if you want to not spend more time than necessary at the NVC.

We haven't received a case complete yet, but our 30 days aren't over yet. Hopefully we will get the case complete before they are up(12th of September).

Good luck!

It depends. My wife, an Indian national, got her PCC from the passport office without adding my (her husband's) name to her passport. She was issued a PCC without any issue and we now have case complete at NVC.

And due to unpredictable NVC delays, coupled with the fact PCCs come with an expiration date, it is advisable to go for a PCC after case arrives at NVC.

Well, I'm just sharing my experience. I already know 3 other people who were denied a PCC because they hadn't added their spouse's name in their passport. So better to be prepared.

Also, the PCC doesn't expire for a year now. So if you get a PCC around the time you are expecting your approval, you'll be fine.

Well, the PCC is needed only for the beneficiary. So you should do some inquiry at your local PSK and find out if you need her name in your passport. What state are you from?

Okay. I am from Gujarat and I have seen other 3 people from Gujarat having the same issue. It should be the same in all states but don't know for sure. Anyways. It's always better to be proactive than reactive. So doing some inquiry would be good. :)
