Good evening all.

My case has been completed on August 3rd and is now awaiting an interview date to be scheduled in port of Spain trinidad and tobago.. my passport will be expired on February 7, 2016 which is approximately 5+ months remaining in passport.

I will be renewing my passport next week which will take roughly about 5 business days, however the question is do I have to inform the NVC or the embassy of the change in passport numbers? Or do I just attend the interview with the new passport and inform them of the same?

Please assist

Attend the interview with the renewed passport; the change in number is irrelevant. People need to renew passports all the time.

Hi Shiraz!

Congrats on your path to final approval :joy:

Here's info from the Trinidad US embassy website that may help you:

  • Bring these items to your interview:
    • All old passports.
    • Baptismal records, medical records, school records and year books with photos, old and current professional ID’s.
    • Proof of joint property ownership, joint financial obligations or remittances from the petitioner
    • Personal correspondence, home telephone records or financial records showing an ongoing relationship.
    • Personal photos with the primary applicant and petitioner (and spouse and children if they are applying) taken over a period of time; also include a copy of the petitioner’s U.S. passport or Permanent Resident Card.
You may have already had your interview by now....didn't think of that! If so, lemme know how it went for you. :)
