There's nothing the US Embassy can do to expedite the beneficiary's passport. That's the jurisdiction of the DFA.

Without the Philippine passport, the beneficiary cannot do the medical and interview.

You can't do anything else without the passport. To even do the DS-160 you will need to passport number, date issued and other information. You will also need it for medical. How long has the petition been with the embassy? Looks like you're at a waiting game.

Sorry there really is no other way to proceed without it because you need information off it for the rest of the journey.

Just curious if the beneficiary knows he/she will be leaving the country, isn't it kind of late in the game to be applying for a passport? I'm sure there must be extenuating circumstances.

We are on the same boat. We knew he will join me in US but never thought of applying for passport before.. So we made appointment for dfa manila aseana but the earliest we got is sept 11, but i just filed my petition last wk of July.

Sorry to say but you cannot proceed with the application right now without the passport.. Tell your fiance to follow up his passport even everyday. Call dfa.

DFA is upgrading their system and they have a huge backlog that makes everything delayed..
