CEAC Status Question

Hi VJers,

Our status in CEAC has been updated to "Ready". Hooray! One tiny thing though, I noticed that there are 3 other cases (?) that have been updated to ready. Please do advise on what these are. Thanks a mil

Was petition also made for children. In my instance my second case number was for my son. But I know that each country can be different.

They were included in the I-129F form but they will not be following as of yet.

If they will not be following/enjoying the benefits of K2, will this be detrimental to future petitions? We are not yet stable and would like to stand first before we get them. We think that is the best way to go.

Any advise would be appreciated.

OK, you listed your kids on the I-129F, and now you want to complete their visa process. You will need to submit everything - new - as listed in the embassy instructions letter (some things are age related and may not be required - read the instructions), this means new forms/documents. You must complete all of this and your kids visa's must be issued BEFORE the one year date of your visa issuance.

CFO sticker is required, seminar is age related. Those who are 12 years old and below are exempted from attending the CFO interview. They must, however, be registered, even if by proxy. Children of emigrants, aged 13 to 19, are required to attend the Peer Counseling Program to help facilitate their adjustment to a new environment.

What if we will NOT be bringing them along as we are not yet financially ready to do such - even after a year. Will this (in the future) affect other kinds of Visa petitions? Like maybe an I-130 in the future?

No...except for the wait time for their priority number to become current. You can file a IR-2 visa with an F2-A priority provided they are under 21 and unmarried. Current wait time is about 18 months. So whenever you two do choose to file for them expect about an 18 month wait.

Sorry, if your spouse is a U.S. citizen then there is no wait and they can come as soon as the petition is approved....whenever it is you decide to do that. I took too long to edit my first reply.
