Hello Their I could really use some feedback on this topic. I recently send in my I-130. I'am married to a US citizen. Im waiting on my letter from USCIS...my next question is...Whats next? I came into the US un inspected. So from what I have read on other discussions...that means that I cannot apply for adjustment of status. Im guessing I will have to apply for the provisional/stateside waiver? Once I submitt that part and hoping that they approve it...what will be next? Do I immediately have to leave to Mexico? When will I know how long I have to stay abroad? That's my biggest fear. I have four babies and I would hate the uncertainty of not knowing how long I will be gone for.

It's been a while so I'll try to remember the order of things..but once uscis approves your i130 you can apply with the nvc. In the mean time start working on your i601A waiver! It's going to take a lot of research, time & effort! Mine was like a book! Use everything you can! Once they approve that they will notify nvc and your case will become eligible for further processing. That's when they'll ask for all your civil documents etc so be prepared with those as well. Once all that is in they will schedule interview. Once interview is scheduled you can make travel plans. My husband was in his country about a week or so before his interview date because he had to gather id, court records, medical etc. I think he would have been home sooner but nvc computers had a glitch, also we missed my w-2 in the documents so go over them and again & again to be sure you have everything at interview! Over all he was out of US for 6 weeks. Some people only have to be gone a couple weeks. It just depends on outcome at interview. Hope that helps! Good luck...it's all worth it in the end!!!

Hi All,

Question on this topic. My husband just received news that our stateside waiver was approved the 601A. I have not yet received instructions from the NVC but, I wanted to know.... Have you filed this, have you been approved? Did you use an attorney to file for the following steps -Affidavit of support and getting ready for the interview?
