first of all I would like to thank this great forum , because it was a pleasure for me to have a great members who all shared the waiting game on this process.

:ot2:

First I would like to give you guys some highlights of the background of our case:

I have been in the states for three year and I completed my bachelor here- F1.

We met on June last year at our friends house, and we got married January/2012. 5 days after she got her final divorce decree

2- The petitioner is divorced with one kid, I, the beneficiary never been married

3- My wife already sponsored her Ex-husband

4- There is a small age difference between us, she is older.

5- There is religion difference resulted in completely rejection from her family side, till this day

1-2-3-4-5 we love each other and we can't live without each other, and that's the most important :)

I consulted several lawyers , and all of them they said I have a straight forward case and I shouldn't be worried, but still I thought that I have some issues which might cause a red flag. Finally, we hired a young lawyer just to come with us to the interview because I did all the paperwork, and we didn't want to waste the money on that. My plan was if I didn't get the Approval soon I will get GC by end of this year through the DV2013. But my wife was telling me not to worry; everything would be fine I thought she is working for the immigration lol. personally, I wasn't stressing about it 2 much , but only because I wanna start applying for jobs ASAP ,for my field at least I should have a GC.

I didn't want to take my step-son because he is kind of hyper and I didn't want him to cause us any trouble over there, u know how kids are!! But my wife said let's take him and he will get u the approval lol, and the lawyer recommended we bring him to show the unity of the family.

We arrived at 1:30, I dropped my wife and my step-son near the front door, and I went to park the car. Fortunately, when I came back we saw the lawyer coming. We went through the security, and then we checked-in by handling the interview letter. Our interview supposed to be @ 2:00 pm, I was called around 2:40. The officer was a black female in her 50's, her name was officer Sanders. She took us to her office and she brought an extra chair for my step-son. My wife started telling my step-son to behave and gave him advices and she forgot about the officer lol. You know how moms are. Anyway, my wife sat down. And then the officer asked her to stand up and she asked us to raise our hands, and swear to tell the truth. by that time, my step-son jumped to the front and he raised his right hand and he said " I swear", the officer smiled a little bit, my wife and I asked my step-son to sit back and I told him not to forget about his birthday if he wants a nice party ;) then she asked us for our state ID's ,my passport, and my EAD, we gave her the ID's, and she started asking my wife about her name , her address and my wife told her that we just moved to a new apartment and my wife gave her the new address. Then she asked for a proof like a lease, and I gave her the lease. Then, she asked my wife about her DOB, my name my DOB, how many times I have been married and her previous names, she had like 4 different names because of marriage and then divorce and new marriage. Now, she didn't have a middle name she took my last name only. Then she asked her if she know my SSN by any chance and she told her the number and the officer replied to my wife “it seems that you are the one who handles all the bills" we didn't comment. and then she started with me, she asked me about my name, address and my wife name and my wife DOB and when I entered USA, I told her that I have only 1 entry to USA and I told her the date then she asked me if I have my I94, I opened my passport to the visa page and give it to her, then she looked into the I-94 and took off, I thought that was a good sign. then she asked me if I graduated or not," yes I did" and then. And she asked about my step-son full name, and his DOB, I told her but I stopped a little bit in his birthday, I asked my step-son if I was correct and he said yes. Then, she asked IF I applied for any other visas than F1, I told her no. then she asked me If I met any of her family, my heart stopped beating because I was harassed by my in-laws and they did their best to break the relation. I told her yes I met all of her family but her father deceased in 20##, I was honest. While I was talking to her, she handled a piece of paper to our lawyer, and I tried t took a look to see what it is, but I couldn't because it was all in capital letters. Then, she asked us if we have a picture for all of us, and my wife gave her a picture for our trip to Universal studios, she said if we have a picture with the parents or weeding, we told her that we didn't have a weeding yet. and while my wife was flipping the picture album, she asked my wife how her family feels about the marriage, my wife said" u know , I came from a conservative catholic family , and you how they think .." then the officer moved her head gain, up and down. And then the officer asked us when and how we met, I told her about the first time we met and how our relation developed and why we decided to rush into marriage. then my wife was flipping through the album and she saw the picture that I took for her while she was in the ER, and my wife said" see I want to kill him he even took my picture in the Emergency room”, she looked so cute in that picture lol, and again she just moved her head, with a little smile. Then I volunteered and offered her some documents, she didn't look like she wanted them but she took them. I told her that we have 3 credit cards together and again my wife took one of the credit cards from her pierce , the one that it has a picture for both of us, and the officer was surprised that u can do that. Also I remember , she asked my wife if she met my family, my wife told her that she didn't by we talk on skype and we plan to go to visit them. finally she handled the same piece of paper to us, we have been approved for Conditional GC, and she explained a little bit and she told us that we have to remove the condition and we will have another interview after 2 years, and then she said your lawyer could explain more, and I told her so we are approved, she replied, yes. Then she walked us to the door and wished us good luck. We thanked her so much, and that is it.

My lawyer told me don’t worry, most likely they won't interview us for ROC if there is no problem in the marriage and if we submit a good amount of documents.

The interview was so easy; the officer was very professional, NOT talkative, but nice. The weird part that I think I was approved before even we were interviewed. The paper that the officer handled to us was printed before we came in, because she didn't print anything while we were in her office. And the paper was signed by her and it has the dates for ROC. Second, that she didn't' ask us for any original documents at all, even though all we submitted was photo copies. I thing before we were called she reviewed our file and she saw the Orlando trip itinerary, and the pictures and our trip to the snow resort in NY. I took a lot of documents with me, but she just took the one that I gave her, and I forget to give her the utility bills and other stuff. But thanks God, everything went smooth, and I got an answer on the spot. I advice everybody to bring everything you have, sometimes a small piece of paper or special picture could reflect the legitimate of the marriage. Please if you have any question let me know we. BTW, were out by 3:00 pm.
