As a long-time vegetarian with a vegetarian wife and a vegan daughter, I have had my personal experiences with mix-ups in restaurants. I can't even count how often we had specifically asked if the 100% vegetable soup on the menu was made with vegetable broth or chicken broth, or whether the Mexican restaurant uses lard, just to make sure.

Any vegetarian or vegan ordering in a restaurant that does not exclusively cater to their personal taste is well advised to exercise due diligence. That includes inquiring beforehand and even looking at the food before eating it. Had those guys done that, they would have detected the error in time. You just can't eat a bunch 'a meat and then complain that you ate a bunch 'a meat. Well you can, and you can be outraged, and you can demand that you don't have to pay for that stuff, but you can't get a vacation out of it, me thinks.

how about demanding a refund (I think that they had prepaid for this event), and a coupon for a free meal there?

It's a standard thing restaurants offer to displeased customers, but if you are a vegetarian who has been wrongly served meat at a restaurant, would you go back again?

Taco Bell Settles Suit With Hindu Over Meal Order

Taco Bell has paid a confidential sum to settle a lawsuit by a devout Hindu who sued the fast-food chain for serving him a beef burrito rather than the bean one he ordered.

The company settled the suit filed by Mukesh K. Rai, 33, of Carpinteria as the case approached trial in Ventura County Superior Court last month.

Rai said that biting into the beef burrito and chewing the meat violated his religious scruples. The "trauma" caused him to seek advice from his spiritual guru in Britain and eventually to journey to India to purify himself by bathing in the holy waters of the Ganges River.

Probably accurate--as they showed their mentality to be similar in the first place by choosing the Garbage State to live in.

Why not Bob, how many millions did the guy who sued coffee was too hot make and the thief who broke into a home sued home owner for not having light on and him falling down in dark and injuring himself win?

I am sure this vacation trip would still be cheaper.
