Is this a case where the SS won't issue a number to your son because he doesn't have a passport for proof of US citizenship, and your embassy won't issue him a passport because he doesn't have an SS number?

Have no idea what your embassy is talking about, ask to speak to a supervisor, the standard DS-11 that I have a copy of less than a month old is all filled out by hand. Has those little square blocks all over the form, one letter printed in black ink per square.

Prefer typing this as much neater, but really dislike the new form they somehow recently changed. Instead of the old fillable *pfd form, ask you a bunch of questions on the net, then it automatically inserts everything in the form you can even save and print out. But they don't want you to print out like their standard form, want you to waste more paper by doing a single sheet stacked up. Don't even know why they want you to print out all the instructions with it, form itself is only two pages.

What I hate about it, make just one minor mistake, have to go back to their site and start all over again, not even Adobe Acrobat Pro lets you change just one letter. The old fillable form let you change the entire form.

Anyone of the 9,000 agents in the USA will give you a hand fillable form, even were passing those out at my stepdaughters' oath ceremony. I think the reason they do that, its cheaper for them than to give you a computer and a printer.

I think I know what you are talking about, occasionally run into a government employee that makes up their own rules, under my breathe call them an ash-hole, but politely respect to speak their supervisor. Would actually prefer to pound the living ####### out of them.

If sabi sa website hindi pwede yung handwritten, you may want to call US em for clarification and peace of mind. Hurry up, you need to have your son's CRBA and US passport on hand before they will issue you your K-1 visa, may NOA2 kana pala... Anyway, congrats! :)

I applied CRBA for my son in 2008 as well but i did not remember the form asking for my son's social security number. If he was born in the Phils then i don't think the child will have the SS number right away..it's not like USA that as soon as u are born u will have the number. In the Philippines u have to apply for it.Can you put N/A or will be applying or something like that? i did not had any problem with my CRBA ,only took me 10 days from submission of the papers to getting my son's US passport and certificate of citizenship.
