i thought it was "Adjusted Gross income" basically anything left "after taxes"????

Wrong on both counts. It's gross income and "adjusted gross income" is not "basically anything left after taxes". It's something else entirely. "Net income" is anything left after taxes.

What about for self employed filers? thanks

How about reading form I-864 BEFORE answering the question????

For purposes of this affidavit, the line for gross (total) income on IRS Forms 1040 and 1040A will be considered when determining income. For persons filing IRS Form 1040 EZ,the line for adjusted gross income will be considered.

Hehehehe...... it's good that affidavit of support is before tax, not all states have same percentage of taxes. :bonk:

For all you self employed people, Its gross income, but its after business deductions not total gross before anything. If your business makes 40K and you have 25K in deductions, then your gross income is now 15k, not 40K.
