California birth cerificate

Californian friends- 

I saw a post someone receiving an RFE for not having the correct birth certificate. Is their a specific bc for California?. I had to go to my county recorders office to get a copy and I only copied one side. The other side is blank.

My husband is from Cali and his BC is only one page as well. However, USCIS asks for both front and back so that's what you should give them, even though it's empty. Just copy it anyway and write on it that it is the back of the BC so they don't wonder why there's an empty paper sheet in the middle of it all. 

 

It may be empty but that might also be what they want to see. If you don't send both front and back they might think you forgot to send the back of the BC and will RFE you for it, to see if it's empty or not.

 

Some get away with only sending the front, some don't. Don't take the risk, it's just one additional paper sheet.

I sent my application already with the one side of my bc. I don't think .CA has a long form. But I can submit a passport copy. Do you think I can send it as an extra attachment to my case?

No I don't think there's any other kind of BC in CA either, it's simply just one page and a blank back. If you're lucky you'll get away with only sending the front, otherwise you just have to wait for the RFE. There's nothing you can do about it once you have already sent the package.
