CR-1 process

Hello while doing the CR-1 Process I see on the flowchart it says at one part the NVC Schedules an interview date.

I am just making sure that I don't need to be in the USA to have a interview, I am wanting to stay with my husband in his country

until this is all finalized. We thought the only interview that was needed is in my husband country when having an interview

with the US Embassy. (final part before it been granted or denied)???? Thanks

Yes. Only your husband will be interviewed at the embassy in Auckland. I think your biggest concern should be establishing domicile

li_09, do you think that I will have a problem with domicile, with just been on holiday in NZ for the time it takes for me to get this done,

hoping it will all be done within the 8-12mths? My mother and sister whom I live with are both still in America, My husband and I will be going back to live with them to begin with? I can't find anywhere how long I can be out of America before Domicile is effected?

There isn't a time limit to be out, before domicile is impacted. If you are "visiting" and have maintained residence and domicile in the USA, then no worries. How have you dealt with sponsorship though? Your spouse will be asked where you currently work.

NVC is the National Visa Center. They schedule "visa interviews" for visa applicants. You will never apply for a US visa. Only foreigners apply for visas.
