Confused By The I-134 Form

Hi All,

My better half and I are in the middle of applying for the K-1. TBH, we are finding it quite clear and easy going. An hour or two has all the forms filled out.

With that said, I'm confused about the I-134 form. The K-1 check list here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide says the American citizen (my girlfriend in this case) has to send it to me. Look at the form however would suggest that she just has to fill it out.

Do I need to sign it or something?

The USC fills out the I-134 and provides the supporting documentation for sponsorship.The I-134 and its supporting financial documents are sent to the foreign fiance(e) when it is time for them to attend their K-1 visa interview. They take those documents with them to the interview.

The I-134 is not needed for the initial I-129F petition. She will send you the I-134 along with supporting documents so that you can take these to your visa interview.

Does she have to send a copy of the I-134 in with the main application, as well as sending one to me, or does she just send one to me?

If by 'main application' you mean the I-129F petition, no. It is not an application for anything though. It is the petition the USC files and if approved grants the foreign fiance(e) the eligibility to apply for a K-1 visa. When it comes time for the actual K-1 visa interview, then the I-134 will be required.
