Rescheduled I-485 interview but just got denial letter?

My husband had his AOS from k-1 interview on March 17th. On March 16th I called the number on the interview letter to reschedule because my entire house had the flu. The guy told me it was good I called because if we had gone to the interview sick then they would have just sent us home anyway. He said they would reschedule & I got a confirmation number from him. I didn't hear anything else until today. My husband got a letter saying because he missed his interview, his I-485 application has been denied & he needs to leave the country. I'm so confused. What do we do? We supposedly successfully rescheduled by phone but apparently they don't have record of that? I feel like I majorly screwed up my husband's immigration stuff but we all had the flu & there was no choice. Does anyone know what I should do now?

Take the confirmation number to an infopass as proof that you did reschedule. If they don't want to re open the case consult an attorney.

Try to speak to tier 2 and not just any receptionist.

Consulate Received : July 30,2014 Transfer to right embassy complete.

Interview Date : Oct 22, 2014

Interview Result : AP , requesting another PC (not expired) and certified divorce decree (was submitted)Stokes interview via phone for petitioner 4 hrs after interview.

Oct 23 email notification visa approved.
Visa Received : Nov. 3 , 2014 VISA IN HAND.

Marriage : Dec 27, 2014

AOS send : May 12, 2015, received May 14, 2015 USPS priority

RFE response : June 26, 2015 returned with a boat load full of financial evidence.

UPDATE: July 5, 2015 updated on all 3 cases, RFE received June 30, 2015.

Service request : Aug 12, 2015, letter received that it will be processed within 90 days from receipt of RFE.

UPDATE: Aug 24, 2015, EAD card being produced/ordered. ( 102 days from AOS receipt day and 55 days from RFE response received.) Thank you Jesus !

Sept. 21 Interview, 2 hour interview, we were separated and asked about 50 questions each for an hour each. IO was firm but professional, some smiles.
Several service requests made, contacted Senator and Ombudsman. Background checks still pending.
July 21, 2017 HOME VISIT.  Went well. Topic thread in AOS forum.
Waiting to skip ROC and get 10 yr GC due to over 2 year while pending AOS
AOS APPROVED Oct. 4, 2017 * Green card in hand Oct 13, 2017 !!!!!

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

Thank you! I was planning to call tomorrow but I wasn't sure what number to call. I'm afraid to make the infopass because his denial says he needs to leave the country ASAP. I'm afraid showing up will get him in trouble even though this is all a huge mistake.

Consult an attorney for motion to reconsider but I hope you can straighten it out either over the phone or through infopass, the confirmation number

is proof that they made a mistake. Let us know what happened.

Two calls into the customer service & it appears it will finally be resolved. The first time I called the woman was transferring me to an immigration officer. I put in to be called back since the wait was said to be 29 minutes. Over an hour later & no call back so I called customer service again. She was nice & put in a service request for me but that was all she said she or anyone could do. Almost 2 hours later I finally get the call back from the immigration officer. After I explained what happened he pulled up our file & said it clearly shows you called the day before but there must have been a time delay in relaying information so it didn't get to the field office in time for them to know you called to reschedule. He said just give us some time to process & it will work out. You should receive a letter on or before April 10th so just give us some time. I asked if he was sure I would get one on or before April 10th because my other option is having to file that form for a motion to reopen the case & the fee for that is over $600 for something I didn't do..he said no no don't do that don't do that. Just wait for the letter. So..we're waiting for the letter. I have cried so much over this! It's awful..
