My fiance is just waiting on getting his interview date. We sent in all of our forms, the ds-160 and the readiness form, on October 27th. He had his medical on October 29th. So now we are just waiting to get our interview date. We have checked the department of state website and it says our case is "ready" and was updated Nov. 3. I just want to make sure everything is in on our part, and its nothing we did wrong that is holding us up. I have read cases on here where people have patiently waited to get their date, only to find out that the embassy lost their forms. I am just trying to figure out when we should expect to get our date. It just seems like our visa is taking forever compared to most, while our case couldn't be any more straight forward.

I was on the phone for an hour yesterday calling DOS, NVC, the US embassy London Call Center, and all kind of lead you in circles telling you to call other people. I just can't seem to get any info on our case. We just sent an inquiry yesterday. I just want confirmation on our case and when to expect an interivew. Checking other visajourney UK timelines, it seems like most people interviewing now have similiar timelines to me. Any tips or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

It can take up to 6 weeks to receive the interview date. However, people usually hear from London much sooner. If you haven't received the appointment letter after three weeks from the date the last item was completed (medical, readiness form, DS-160). Let's say, Friday 21 November. Use the contact form to send another enquiry:

http://london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html

Include the full name of the beneficiary, date of birth and LND number. Ask them if they have received everything from you needed to assign an interview date. And request that they confirm your date by email.

Ok sounds good! Thanks! Glad to hear London is faster than the 6 week timeframe, unlike the US part that gives a time frame and then you add two months to that :P

London is NOT faster than the 6 weeks.

Every case is different. Some people get their interview scheduled withing 5-10 days of submitting their forms and some of us have had to wait the full 6 weeks.

The information you put on your form of readiness are crucial. For example, wedding and/or travel dates.

If you're not planning to get married until January or later next year, plan to wait a full 6 weeks for your interview.

If there is no rush to scheduled your interview, they won't.

I have a thread asking quite the same thing here.

All of our documents were submitted Oct 8th, including the medical. But since our wedding isn't scheduled until December 13th, there is no rush to scheduled our interview.

Whereas, other people who filed their paperwork the same day as us and getting married in November have already had their interview and most area already in the states.

Hope that makes sense.

Yea I am worried about lost paperwork after reading about a lot of other cases where this has happened. I really thought ours would be done by now. We began all this in Febraury and thought a November wedding would be safe, but I don't think he's going to make it. I just hope we get a date soon. Hope you guys do too. Good luck!

You should receive a respone from the embassy on either Monday or Tuesday. Hopefully, they will have good news for you.

What date did you put on your readiness form for your wedding?

Our wedding was suppose to be tomorrow, Nov. 15. Also when we check the ceac website ours says it was updated Nov. 3rd and is "ready." I don't know what that means. Just that it is ready to be assigned a date?

November 3rd was, more than likely, the date that the embassy received your medical results. That date simply means the last time your file was pulled or touched. It has shown "ready" ever since it reached the embassy.

Think of this backwards - Starting at your wedding date Nov 15th

It takes 7-10 days to receive your passport back AFTER the interview. So, lets say it takes 7 days, best case scenario. Which would mean your interview would have had to of been Nov 7th or earlier. The embassy didn't get your medical results until Nov 3rd which would have then made it impossible to send your interview with enough notice.

All in all, Nov 15th wedding would not be possible unless you specifically told the embassy that you could arrive last minute. (Meaning you lived in London and could show up whenever they had a free slot.)

Based on your time frame, It would be my best guess to expect your interview before the end of the month. Again, that is just a guess. Since they weren't able to accomodate the 'wedding date', I am not sure how quickly or slowly they will now process your visa.

Yea, I picked that date back in January thinking it would be plenty of time, but things move slow and it's out of my control so there's not much we can do, but still the sooner he gets here the better! Thanks for all of your help and good luck to you too!

My fiance was notified via email today our interview is scheduled for December 9th. He won't be home before our wedding date, either.

But, he'll be home and that's all that matters.

I hope you get your interview date soon!

I also read today that their email system is down :-(

My fiance's medical is November 24 and all documents have been submitted....I put 12/31 for wedding date....just hoping for an interview by Dec 15th!

The embassy received our file on Nov 14 but it was updated the 17th and again the 18th??? Hoping that is a good sign that someone is looking into the file???

The updates were likely the DS160 and Readiness.

The embassy likely wont receive your medical results until the beginning of December.

It would be tough to get an interview that soon but I wish you the best of luck!

Doesnt it say they receive medical info within 3-5 days? Just talked to someone who had their interview 10 days after medical and another who had their interview 6 days after medical!

Yes, they would receive within 3 - 5 business days but keep in mind the 27th is a US holiday. I would expect Dec 1st for delivery of results.

There are some very lucky people to get quick interview dates.

I can assure you that's not the case for everyone. Most people tend to wait 2-3 weeks for an interview date after all forms are completed.

Personally, we submitted all of ours Oct 8th with intended wedding of Dec 13th. We waited 5 weeks for our interview to be scheduled and it wasn't scheduled in time for our wedding. We really thought that we had given enough notice of our December wedding, but we were wrong.

We're hoping to get our rescheduled and even do a last minute interview. Fingers crossed.

The holidays slow everything down.

I do hope you get your interview in time.

London moves pretty fast I thought, compared to the rest of the process. My fiance had his medical Oct. 29 and his interview is for Dec. 8th. We didn't know we could send the readiness form before he actually went to the medical so we didn't send that until Oct. 27th. After his medical we just kept checking the ceac.state.gov website. On there it just said ready and then he recieved the letter for his interview in the mail on Nov. 15th. So it took us 2 and a half weeks to get our interview date. Good luck!
